Deputy Heads Teachers Conference - Sandbanks Jan 2009

Joined by Bishop Peter who celebrated Eucharist with the conference and spoke of how valuable their role is in our schools. Conference speaker was Professor Bart McGettrick, Dean of Education at Liverpool Hope University, who spoke of the need to address the spiritual growth of our pupils and the need for creative leaders who will inspire our children to learn. The 23 diocesan deputies will recall his statement that "Children learn through the smiling eyes of their teacher" Monsignor Kevin was present for the opening conference dinner and delivered his view of where the diocese is in developing Bishop Peter’s vision, the importance of partnership between our schools and the challenge of change which faces us all.
