Monsignor Kevin  McGinnell- Episcopal Vicar for Education & Formation


Monsignor Kevin McGinnell has been Episcopal Vicar for Education since 2000, previously being Director of RE (1993-2000) and Adviser for RE for Buckinghamshire and Berkshire (1990 – 93). He is Parish Priest at Holy Ghost Parish, Luton and is also Chair of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission and Chair of the English Language Liturgical Consultation, Joint Liturgical Group (JB). He is member of the Bishops' Conference Committees for Liturgy and Spirituality. Monsignor Kevin’s background is in Catholic secondary education in Corby, Redditch, and London.

Sister Aidan Richards - Adviser for Primary RE

Sister Aidan Richards is a Sister of Our Lady who has an MA in Pastoral . Theology and a Diploma in Catechetics (1960) from London. She was previously Headteacher of Our Lady's Convent Preparatory School and a Teacher in a Primary schools in Hertfordshire, Cambridge and St. Mary's Middle School Northampton. Sister Aidan has experience of Catechesis with Adults and school aged students.

Sister Philomena Grimley SHCJ - Adviser for Parish Catechetics

Sister Philomena Grimley has been a Member of the Society of the Holy Child of Jesus since 1956. She has been Adviser for Catechetics since July 2004. Her background is in Catholic secondary education in Harrogate, Mayfield and Preston. Sister Philomena has had leadership roles in her Religious Order and has been involved is parish/diocesan work in the Dioceses of Wrexham and Liverpool. Also workng in the areas of justice and peace, and facilitation for religious orders.

Mr Alex Heath - Adviser for Adult Faith Formation, Catechetics and Chaplaincy


Alex Heath has a background in evangelization, catechetics, adult formation and school chaplaincy. As Adviser he works to co-ordinate and provide faith formation for parishes and other groups in the Diocese as well as supporting the ongoing development of school chaplaincy. Alex has previously been involved in various evangelization projects and school chaplaincies and has also worked as a Pastoral Assistant in a parish in the Westminster Diocese. Alex is married with two children.

Mr Barry O'Byrne - Clerk to Governors Court

Barry O’ Byrne holds a BA in Psychology and Education and is a specialist teacher in divinity. He was Head Teacher of a Catholic primary school for many years and has worked for the Diocese in various capacities since 2000. Currently Barry is schools officer for Governors an represents the Diocese on a number of education committees. He carries out Section 48 Inspections and is Chair of Governors of a Diocesan infant school.

Mrs Kate Harper - Primary RE Consultant

Kate Harper is a primary education consultant for the Diocese and works on a part time basis. Kate was a Head Teacher for twelve years in an Oxfordshire Catholic school and during that period she also served as a consultant head in two county primary schools. Kate's work involves staff training, mentoring of new staff, preparation for and issues arising from section 48 inspections. She is also an inspector with the Archdiocese of Birmingham.



 

Mr. Paul Wyer- CCRS Course Administrator

Paul was born in Ireland and is a BA graduate from Maynooth University. For 30 years he has had various management positions in the construction industry, including Procurement Manager, Offshore Resources Manager for Middle East Projects and Company Director & Construction/Design director for UK refurbishment Projects.He is currently employed as a Quantity Surveyor. For the past 3 years he has been in formation for the Permanent Diaconate, training at St John`s Seminary, Surrey, and will be ordained on the 24th June 2007. He is married to Maura, a Civil Servant and has one son, Brendan who is a professional actor.
